¡Sorpresa, sorpresa! Deep Purple lanzará su nuevo álbum Whoosh! el 12 de junio.
El álbum número 21 de los íconos del heavy rock, marca la tercera vez que trabajan con el productor Bob Ezrin, que también produjo InFinite de 2017 y Now What? De 2013.
Según una declaración de la banda, su lema durante la grabación del álbum fue: «Deep Purple está devolviendo el Deep a Purple».
El guitarrista Steve Morse dice: “Hemos incluído todo lo que hace sonreír a toda la banda, incluído Bob Ezrin. Siempre hemos disfrutado haciendo música y tenemos el increíble lujo de un público fiel «. (LouderSound)
Deep Purple también ha anunciado una extensa gira europea para acompañar el álbum.
La misma comienza en Moscú el 31 de mayo y termina en Ámsterdam el 28 de octubre. La etapa del Reino Unido comienza en Manchester el 2 de octubre.
Whoosh! Se lanza el 12 de junio de 2020 a través de earMUSIC. Estará disponible como una edición limitada de CD + DVD Mediabook con una película de su actuación en vivo completa de Hellfest 2017 y una entrevista de video de una hora con el bajista Roger Glover y el productor Bob Ezrin. También estará disponible la edición 2LP + DVD y el ya habitual box set de edición limitada.
DP sigue siendo Ian Gillian, Ian Paice, Roger Glover, Steve Morse y Don Airey.
