R.E.M. en la BBC: un box set delicioso

Una caja de rechupete editará Universal Music en octubre próximo: REM en la BBC es un masivo box con 8CD + DVD que comprende un tesoro oculto de grabaciones en vivo y en estudio inéditas seleccionadas de la BBC y de los archivos de la banda.

El set presenta actuaciones en el estudio tales como la John Peel Session (1998), apariciones en Drivetime y Mark and Lard a (2003) y un show de Radio 1 Live Lounge (2008). Entre las transmisiones en vivo hay un programa de Nottingham’s Rock City (1984), el Milton Keynes Monster Tour de 1995, la presentación de Glastonbury de 1999 y un show solo para invitación en 2004 en la iglesia de St James de Londres. En total, hay ocho CD de este tipo de audio.

El DVD que completa el set comienza con un documental llamado Accelerating Backwards de sesenta minutos (previamente transmitido en el Reino Unido pero nunca disponible comercialmente) y también ofrece un completo 1998 Later … con el episodio de Jools Holland dedicado a la banda, además de apariciones en televisión en Top de los Pops y más.

Lo mejor de R.E.M. en la BBC se ofrecen además en formato de 2LP y 2CD.

Los tres formatos se lanzan el 19 de octubre de 2018. Con la pre-order, se puede bajar una versión de Losing My Religion grabada en 1991. Ver tracklist completo al final de la nota.
